On June 15, 2005, UNHCR will present a special
screening of the film Hotel Rwanda.
Starring Academy Award Nominee Don Cheadle, this award winning film tells
the true story of one man’s brave stance against savagery during
the 1994 Rwandan conflict. As his country descends into madness, five-star
hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina sets out to save his family. But when
he sees the world will not intervene in the massacre of minority Tutsis,
he finds the courage to open his hotel to over 1,200 refugees. Now, with
a rabid militia at his gates, he has only his wits and words to help keep
him alive another hour, another day. With remarks by Paul Rusesabagina,
the true life hero of the film, and Terry George, writer/director. Reservations
required.
For tickets call (202) 857-7700 starting May 15.
